[ANALYSIS] TD Borderless Plan
We just wrote a post about the Top U.S credit cards for Canadians. We ranked the TD U.S. Dollar Visa Card at the bottom of the list because of its higher annual fee with no benefits.
However, you can get the annual fee waived if you get the TD Borderless Plan. By having a Borderless Plan, you can gain access to preferred exchange rates and get your annual fee waived on the TD U.S. Dollar Visa Card ($39 value).
There is a $4.95 USD monthly fee which is waived if you maintain $3,000 USD monthly balance. The other benefits in the Borderless Plan are free U.S. bank drafts, traveller’s cheques and cheque orders. You also get unlimited and no transactions fees.
This is actually a great account to have and I am actually going to strongly consider this option in my portfolio.
You can also get the borderless plan for free if you have the TD All-Inclusive account, which overrides the need to maintain a minimum balance in the USD account.
