[HOTEL] Status Match with Best Western

Best Western Rewards has a very generous Status Match program.

The way status matches work is that when you have an elite status with one hotel loyalty program, you can match that status to Best Western and receive the equivalent elite status. It seems like an amazing initiative. The rational behind it is that when you have elite status with one hotel program, it shows that you stay at hotel frequently, so this is an incentive to attract frequent travellers to use their hotel program instead.

In my case, I had Gold Elite status with IHG Rewards and I was lucky enough to match Platinum Elite with Best Western Rewards.

I have not been too happy with my IHG Rewards program, after hearing so many people getting their accounts shut down for registering for promotions. I am more than happy to diversify my portfolio.

The Status Match is not the only reason I switched to Best Western. Their points never expire and they have not really raised the number of points for reward nights in a long while. Which means they held very consistent. I really like consistent programs, because then I can better plan my travels.

I really want to take this opportunity to give Best Western a THUMBS UP for its Rewards program. I hope that they continue to remain consistent and further improve its program over the years.
