30% Transfer Bonus from RBC Rewards to British Airways Executive Club

Not quite the 50% that I was hoping for, but still glad to see some transfer bonus still alive. RBC Rewards is currently offering a 30% transfer bonus to British Airways Executive Club.

This offer, which runs between November 15, 2017 to December 31, 2017, is only valid to RBC Avion cardholders, not just any RBC Rewards credit card. Valid credit cards are as follow

RBC Devaluing Conversion to American Airlines AAdvantage

One of my readers email me a few days ago about this, I was in denial for a few days. But it is true. If you log into your RBC Rewards account, you will find the following wording:

Please be advised of the upcoming changes to the conversion of RBC Rewards points to American Airlines AAdvantage miles through the RBC Rewards program. Effective May 2, 2017, for every 10 RBC Rewards points which is converted, you will receive 7 AAdvantage miles. A maximum of 500,000 points may be converted annually. A minimum conversion of 5,000 points continues to apply each time.

RBC Visa Business Platinum Avion First Year Fee Waived

I was actually pretty shocked to see this promotion, as RBC rarely waive their annual fees, granted the RBC Visa Business Platinum Avion is a business card, rather than personal. Either way, I am just happy to see this offer. Below are the highlights of this credit card:

$120 annual fee (first year fee waived if you apply before May 31, 2017)

American Express Upgrading its Fixed Points Travel Rewards

My friend Jeff, from Canadian Kilometers recently wrote a post about the new American Express Fixed Points Travel Rewards. He offered a very comprehensive explanation, so I will supplement what he already mentioned.

I am actually very excited about this new offer. This new move puts them more in line, or maybe even more competitive than the RBC Avion and CIBC Aventura programs.

Top Loyalty Programs in Canada (updated November 13, 2016)

This post is long overdue for an update. Last time around, I still listed Air Miles as one of the top 5. With the upcoming controversial expiry policy (which may be altered anyway by a new legislation), they will temporary be bumped out of the top 5.

15% Conversion Bonus from RBC to WestJet

There is a week left on the Royal Bank of Canada’s Avion (or RBC Rewards) program’s 15% transfer bonus to WestJet Rewards. It has been running since October 3, 2016, and ends on November 14, 2016. Historically, it is a disappointing transfer bonus, that is why I held off writing about it. I will explain why below.

50% RBC Rewards Conversion Bonus to British Airways’ Executive Club is BACK!

I thought we’d be stuck with the 30% RBC conversion bonus for the foreseeable future. I really did not expect to see the 50% bonus back again. The last time it was offered was back in the summer of 2015. I am more than happy to find out that I was wrong about this. This is a very pleasant surprise with RBC and Executive Club.

Converting Esso Extra to Airline Miles

You probably see a lot of advertisement about the Esso Extra program. Lots of hype goes into the Esso Privileges card. However, there is actually a pretty net way of converting your Esso Extra points into airline miles and get more value. It requires a 2 step process though.
