MBNA offers the Sony Card Platinum Plus MasterCard, which is currently giving a 10,000 Sony points promotion. Here are the highlights of the credit card:

June 30, 2014
- Earn 2 points for every $1 spent on eligible purchases of Sony products (at sony.ca or the Sony store)
- Earn 1 point for every $1 spent on all other purchases
- You can redeem your Sony points toward any Sony product online at sony.ca
The no annual fee makes this credit card an easy choice if you are a fan of Sony program. There are many different ways to earn Sony points.
There are many different rewards that you can redeem for. Depending on which rewards you redeem for, you should aim for approximately $100 in cash value for 10,000 points. That would mean that 1 point per $1 is a 1% return and 2 points per $1 spend is 2% return, which is not a bad deal. Where is becomes lucrative is when you can take advantage of the bonus points promotions.
I will say this, there is a lot of potential to get a lot of value from your points because there are so many different rewards to choose from. The 1 point per $1 spent on all purchases is a fair 1% return, but other credit cards offer more. You only really earn points quicker when you purchase with Sony. But how often will you actually make a purchase at Sony? If you are the type who needs to give a lot of gifts, you can concentrate more purchases from Sony to help you add up your points quicker.
