[AIRLINE] Air Canada Cancelling flights to Venezuela

Air Canada has suspended flights to and from Venezuela due to the protests against the government until further notice.

Air Canada announced that they can no longer ensure the safety of its operation. The last flight leaving Canada departed Toronto on Saturday March 15, 2014 to Caracas.

Air Canada says that affected travelers can obtain refunds at no additional costs.

Air Canada’s suspension came just a few days after Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said any airline that reduced or suspended flights in and out of Venezuela would face severe measures. Maduro said any airline that leaves won’t be allowed back while he is in power.

Let us avoid any political discussions and hope for a peaceful resolution to the situation.
