[ANALYSIS] American Express Holt Renfrew Card

a close-up of a credit card

For all you Holt Renfrew fans out there, you can earn points with the Holt Renfrew Rewards program. Every point is worth 1 cent. Therefore, 5,000 points is equal to $50

There is a no annual fee credit card out there that gives you a fair amount of perks and allows you to earn points. Below are the highlights of the American Express Holt Renfrew Card:

  • No annual fee
  • Earn 5,000 points when referred
  • Earn 2,500 points referral bonus for every approved referral
  • Earn 1.4 point for every $1 spent at Holt Renfrew stores
  • Earn 1 point for every $1 spent on all other purchases
  • Earn 10% off your first purchase at Holt Renfrew
  • Purchases over $100 will be delivered directly to your door free of charge
  • Free hem and cuff alterations on any of your purchases in-store

Unfortunately, there does not seem to be any sign up bonus if you do not have this credit card already. So ideally, you want someone to refer you to sign up for the credit card. If you already have the credit card, be sure to start referring all your friends and family members who are also Holt Renfrew fans. The no annual fee makes this credit card a no-brainer.

Since 1 points is worth 1 cent, that means you are getting a 1.4% return for using the credit card at Holt Renfrew stores and 1% return on all other purchases. This is relatively up to part with most no annual fee cash back credit cards out there.

The 10% off can become quite lucrative, so the timing of when you apply for this credit card can make a big difference. If you know you have a big purchase coming up, then that would be the best time to sign up for the credit card, even if you cannot get the 5,000 sign up bonus through a referral.

The free delivery perk for purchases over $100 can be quite useful. So be sure to take advantage of it. Free hem and cuff alterations on any of your purchases in-store is just icing on the cake.

Conclusion: I see a lot of value in this credit card. I really hope that they never charge an annual fee for this credit card and that they continue to improve the benefits. Two thumbs up for me!
