Best Current First Year Fee Waived Cards for March 2020

Quite a few promotions ended at the beginning of the month, but have been extended for the most part. The list is actually quite extensive relatively speaking. So if there are cards that you have been considering, now is the time to go for it.

Ongoing First Year Fee Waived Offers

The reason I left this list (ongoing offers) up is that there are so few (just 2 really) permanent first year fee waived offers. So they are worthy of being highlighted. Meridian Bank is the only company willing to do this at the moment. Every other company has first year fee waived offers during a specific promotion period.

That being said, even though Meridian has a permanent offer with no end date, it also means that it can be terminated at any time.

  1. Hi Matt, love your site. Always great info about credit cards. Would like to make a request – is it possible to make an article about credit cards for folks who have landed in Canada for the first time (newbies like students, newly landed immigrants etc). Especially since newly arrived folks wouldn’t have a credit history/jobs, most big banks dont give out credit cards. Would you be able to suggest credit cards for them who would like to build their own credit history (as opposed to being added as supplementary etc). Thanks a lot. KJ
