Minor Improvement to the American Express Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card

The American Express Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card (Canadian version) has been slightly upgraded. Originally, there was a $50 annual fee for supplementary cardholders, which now waives its first year fee. Not an earth-shattering move, but it should make it a no-brainer to at least add the supplementary cardholder at least for the first year.

Hotel Co-Branded Credit Cards Market Wide Open

It is very slim pickings for co-branded hotel loyalty program credit cards in Canada. These are only 4 credit cards left to choose from. This also means that the market is completely wide open. Unfortunately, the weak Canadian dollar is really not helping the potential for a hotel rewards program to want to enter the Canadian market.

It has been a while since my last hotel expiry policies update. There have been a few changes ever since, so I thought I’d give my list a quick update. In deciding my preference for hotel loyalty programs, I give a lot of consideration to the expiry policy.
