"Get the best return possible for every $ you spend."

[DISCONTINUED] Capital One Aspire World Travel MasterCard

I am actually in shock that one of my favourite credit cards in Canada, the Capital One Aspire Travel World MasterCard has been discontinued. No new clients can sign up for this credit card any more.

Below were the highlights of the credit card:

  • $120 annual fee
  • Earn 35,000 sign up bonus points after your first purchase
  • Earn 10,000 anniversary bonus points
  • Earn 2 points per $1 spend on anything

This is such an unfortunate turn of events.

I gave Capital One a call to see what will happen to my credit card. They said that existing cardholders will be able to continue hanging on to their credit cards. So if you are an existing credit card holder, you will want to retain it for as long as possible while you still can.

This is such a disappointing turn of events because the competition in Canada has just gotten weaker.

For the time being I will still continue to hang on to this credit card while I still can, but I will definitely be searching for a replacement within my portfolio.
