UPDATED [PROMOTION] Air Canada Offers Welcome Bonus of 25,000 Aeroplan Miles (expired October 31, 2014)

UPDATE- Just to clarify, the first year annual fee rebate is only targeted towards specific customers, so if you’ve received the following email recently, you are definitely a qualifier for this promotion. I would still call the bank anyway to confirm that the email that you received is legit. Otherwise, you can still enjoy the 25,000 sign up bonus points from Aeroplan. Another option would be ask the bank to have the first year fee waived if you haven’t been targeted in this promotion which is at the discretion of the person you are speaking with.

Until October 31st, 2014, Air Canada is offering 25,000 bonus Aeroplan miles when you apply for the TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card. If you apply before the promotion expiry date, the annual fee accompanying the credit card (a whopping $120) will also be waived. As a current Aeroplan member, it’s great seeing these special offers as it is not easy striving for 25,000 points on your own. With the help of sign-up bonuses, you can easily bank up a lot of points effortlessly into your account.

As an owner of the TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card, you can enjoy benefits from Air Canada such as the following when you travel on flight rewards operated by Air Canada:

  • First Checked Bag Free when you travel on an Aeroplan flight reward
  • Priority Check-in and Priority Boarding
  • Annual Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge One Time Guess Pass

With the welcome bonus and annual fee rebate, the card essentially puts you on turbo speed when trying to reach your vacation destination, whether you’re flying domestic or internationally. With the easily accessible rewards chart found on the Aeroplan official website, you can see how much closer you are to your ideal destination.

It is suspected that the promotion is targeted towards specific customers, so if you have received the following email recently, you are definitely a qualifier for this promotion. Otherwise, you can still enjoy the 25,000 sign up bonus points from Aeroplan.

With 25,000 points, you can easily fly within the country and in the United States. If you’re looking for a short vacation, you can be sure that the welcome bonus will definitely give you a big boost.

  1. I know that the picture on your post states that the First Year Annual Fee is waived, but I’ve looked into the TD website and even the Aeroplan website but nowhere does it say that… Can you post a link where we can apply that can reassure us that we get 1st year waived and the 25,000 Welcome bonus? Just want to make sure I’m applying through the correct place Thanks!! I’m super excited for the 1st year waived so I want to make sure I’m doing it right.

    1. Hi Jenny, sorry for the confusion, we just updated the post (see above) to help clarify things. The 1st Year Annual Fee waived is for people who received the targeted email. If you did not receive a targeted email from TD or Air Canada about getting the first year annual fee waived, then you may not qualify for it. However, you can give the bank a call or walk into a branch to explicitly ask for the first year fee to be waived, which can be done at the discretion of the person you are speaking with. Otherwise the regular promotion (25,000 Welcome bonus, without annual fee waived) will apply. We wrote about the disclaimer on our post which some readers have missed, but we hope this clears things up. Again sorry for the mixup!

  2. Okay thanks for the clarification… I’ll make sure I do that!! I’ve had good experience with tellers waiving fee on promos they’re already giving out so it’s no problem for me. Not going to give up on 1st year waive on a card like this so easily.

  3. An update to your post – If you sign up through GCR, you get the first year waived + an additional $50 rebate.
    Win / Win 🙂
