[PROMOTION] First Year Fee Waived on the MBNA Rewards World Elite MasterCard

The MBNA Rewards World Elite MasterCard is currently offering a promotion that waives it first year annual fee. However, the link to the credit card seems to be spotty, which is why I linked the main MBNA page. If you do manage to get the link to work, the highlights of the credit card are as follows:

• $89 annual fee (waived for the first year)
• Earn 10,000 points sign up bonus on the first purchase
• Earn 2 points for every $1 in eligible purchases

There is no timeline on how long the first year fee is waived for, so if you are thinking about this credit card, I wouldn’t think too long. MBNA has the tendency to pull a promotion without notice; thus, the lack of deadline on the promotion.

In terms of the reward redemption, 1 point is essentially worth 1 cent. So you are getting $100 in sign up bonus points to be used on travel expenses. You are earning 2 points for every $1 spent, so that is a 2% return on all purchases, which is great value.

At the very least, you can give this credit card a try for 1 year and then decide the following year if it’s worth paying the annual fee. Basically, the more you spend, the more value you will get out of this credit card.
