Rundown of the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge (updated September 20, 2018)

In celebration of the new Maple Leaf Lounge at Saskatoon’s John G. Diefenbaker International Airport (YXE), I thought it would be appropriate to update this post.

There are many different ways to access the lounge.

Maple Leaf Club Memberships

Note that club members must present their membership card and a confirmed same-day ticket or boarding pass on a departing Air Canada, Air Canada Express or any Star Alliance member airline operated flight. Note that for all memberships, there is additional guest fee:

  • Before 11 am: $20.00 – $24.00 CAD/USD
  • After 11 am: $30.00 – $36.00 CAD/USD

Maple Leaf Club – Canada

  • $375 CDN annual fee or 53,500 Aeroplan miles for this membership
  • $550 CDN annual fee or 78,250 Aeroplan miles for membership with Partner
  • Access to 16 lounges in Canada only

North American Plus

  • $495 CDN annual fee or 70,500 Aeroplan miles for this membership
  • $730 CDN annual fee or 104,000 Aeroplan miles for membership with Partner
  • Access to over 66 lounges in Canada, the U.S. and Europe only

Air Canada Maple Leaf Club Worldwide

  • $665 CDN annual fee or 94,750 Aeroplan miles for this membership
  • $970 CDN annual fee or 138,000 Aeroplan miles for this membership
  • One complementary guest
  • Access to 210 lounges around the world

Access to Maple Leaf Lounges

Note that there is a fee for all additional guests to Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounges when accessing the lounge using the methods below:

  • Before 11 am: $20.00 – $24.00 CAD/USD
  • After 11 am: $30.00 – $36.00 CAD/USD

Redeem for one time lounge pass

You can redeem 7,250 Aeroplan miles for a one time guest pass.

Fly on Business Class

You will have lounge access if you are flying in Business class when travelling on an Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge, Air Canada Express flight or with any Star Alliance carrier.

Premium Rouge

Customers travelling in Premium Rouge with have access to the Maple Leaf Lounge on flights within Canada, to the U.S and Sun destinations.

Altitude Elite 35K

Air Canada’s Altitude Elite 35K members can access the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounges located in the domestic and transborder departure zones of Canadian airports along with those in Los Angeles, New York (LaGuardia) and Newark.

Altitude Super Elite 100K, Elite 75K and Elite 50K

All other Air Canada Altitude elite levels members can access all Maple Leaf lounges with their domestic partner, dependent children (up to 5), and guest when departing on an Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge or Air Canada Express flight. Members can also access domestic (i.e. Canada) lounges from their arrival flights.

Star Alliance Gold

Star Alliance Gold members can bring a guest on a same-day ticket into the lounge when flying with Air Canada, Air Canada Express, Air Canada Rouge or Air Canada codeshare flight, or for a flight with one of the Star Alliance partners.

Access with Credit Cards

Unlike the credit cards that give you Priority Pass lounge access, it works a little differently with the Maple Leaf Lounge. Below is the complete list of credit cards in Canada that offer free access to the Maple Leaf Lounge.

CIBC Aerogold Visa Infinite Card $120 Receive 1 guest pass per calendar year (cannot carry forward) on same-day boarding pass for travel using an Aeroplan Flight Reward only, on a flight operated by Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge or under the Air Canada Express banner.
CIBC Aerogold Visa Business Card $180 Receive 1 guest pass per calendar year (cannot carry forward) on same-day boarding pass for travel using an Aeroplan Flight Reward only, on a flight operated by Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge or under the Air Canada Express banner.
CIBC Aerogold Visa Infinite Privilege Card $399 Receive 4 guest passes per calendar year (cannot carry forward) on same-day boarding pass for travel using an Aeroplan Flight Reward only, on a flight operated by Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge or under the Air Canada Express banner.
TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card $120 Receive 1 guest pass per calendar year (cannot carry forward) on same-day boarding pass for travel using an Aeroplan flight reward, only, on a flight operated by Air Canada, Air Canada rouge or under the Air Canada express banner.
TD Aeroplan Visa Business Card $149 Receive 1 guest pass per calendar year when you travel on an Air Canada banner and Aeroplan reward flight.
TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Privilege Card $399 Receive 4 guest passes per calendar year (cannot carry forward) on same-day boarding pass for travel using an Aeroplan Flight Reward, only, on flights operated by Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge or under the Air Canada express banner.

  • Domestic Terminal (near Gate 1 and 3)
  • International Terminal (near Gate 52)
  • Transborder (near Gate 72 and 73)

Ottawa Macdonald–Cartier International Airport (YOW)

  • Level 1 (access by Gate 19)

Regina International Airport (YQR)

  • Level 2 (access by Gate 4 and 5 on level 1)

Saskatoon John G. Diefenbaker International Airport (YXE)

  • Access by Gate 5

  • Domestic (Terminal 1, Level 4)
