Top Credit Card Higher than Normal Sign Up Bonuses for March 2019

Quite a few promotions that were carrying over from 2018 came to an end last month. Some were extended and some were changed. This month is the beginning of many new 2019 offers. Several other 2018 promotions are coming to an end this month.

This is going to the be the first time that I give this idea a try. Every time I post a monthly top credit cards post, I will try to feature at least 1 credit card that I think is worth mentioning. There could be some months that I do not mention any cards. For this month, I would take a second look at the Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite Card. First of all, they increased the base sign up bonus from 25,000 to 30,000 bonus points. Furthermore, they are now giving additional bonus points for spending targets. Every year, you can earn an additional 10,000 bonus points after spending $40,000 in an anniversary year. You can earn an additional 2,000 points for every additional $10,000 in purchases. These bonus points opportunities is exactly what I was hoping to see, which helps justify the $139 annual fee on renewal. I like this initiative by Scotiabank!

Honorary mention goes to the TD First Class Travel Visa Infinite Card with an 80,000 sign up bonus points offer and first year fee waived.

  1. This list is fantastic! The only thing that would make it even better is a reference that would explain clearly how each type of ponts/miles can be used and how much they’re worth (approximately).

When trying to decide which card(s) to get, it can be extremely confusing to compare and try to understand what you can get for X amount of Aeroplan miles, Air miles, BMO reward points, Aventura points, Avion points, etc etc etc etc…

P.S. If such a reference already exists, maybe just add a link to it in the article. 🙂

  2. Oups… Just found the Points Index, which is a great step in the right direction for sure!

Still a bit confusing for a newbie though when trying to decide which is better between 25,000 Aeroplan miles, 800 Air Miles, 80,000 TD points, 25,000 Scotiabank points, etc, particularly with regards to how each can actually be redeemed.

Thanks again for all the resources anyway! 🙂

  3. For the TD Business Aeroplan Credit card, do you know which one counts as the personal credit card?
