The Top Credit Card Spending Bonuses (updated March 6, 2015)
Below is another round of updates on the tip credit card spending bonuses. What I like most about perks for high spending is that the perk can often be a good enough benefit to help offset the annual fee renewal. Often times, we may not want to continue retaining a credit card for another year and have to pay the annual fee again.
One way to help offset an annual fee is to give a benefit for high spending with that credit card. It seems like a win/win for the credit card company and the customer. I just wish that we can see more of these benefits.
Ideally I would like to see a spending bonus that would completely waive the fee as well.

RBC British Airways Visa Infinite
- $165 annual fee
- Receive 1 complimentary Companion Award Ticket/eVoucher when you spend $30,000 or more during a calendar year
American Express Starwood Preferred Guest Business Credit Card
- $150 annual fee
- Spend $30,000 a year (anniversary year of having the credit card) to receive an automatic upgrade to Starwood Gold Preferred Guest membership
- Spend $40,000 a year (anniversary year of having the credit card) to receive a Free Weekend Night Award
American Express Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card
- $120 annual fee
- Spend $30,000 a year (anniversary year of having the credit card) to receive an automatic upgrade to Starwood Gold Preferred Guest membership
- Spend $40,000 a year (anniversary year of having the credit card) to receive a Free Weekend Night Award
Capital One IHG Rewards Club World MasterCard
- $120 annual fee
- Spend $10,000 to receive 5,000 bonus points (no limit on how many times you can earn the 5,000 bonus points)
Capital One Delta SkyMiles World MasterCard
- $120 annual fee
- Spend at least $25,000 (in the anniversary year of having the credit card) to earn 10,000 bonus points
Capital One IHG Rewards Club Platinum MasterCard
- No annual fee
- Spend $10,000 to earn an annual bonus of 5,000 points
MBNA Best Western Rewards Platinum Plus
- No annual fee
- Spent $6,000 in a calendar year to receive a one tier elite status upgrade within the Best Western Rewards program
