The Bank of Montreal (BMO) is offering some higher than normal sign up bonuses on several credit cards. Below is a list of some if the promotions to look out for. If you have been contemplating some of the credit cards, now may be the right time to sign up.
BMO Air Miles MasterCard
- No annual fee
- Earn the first 400 miles after the first purchase and another 400 miles after spending $1,000 in the first 3 months, a total of 800 miles (if you apply before April 30, 2016)

- Earn 1.25x Air Miles point Shell locations in Canada
- Earn 1 Air Miles point for every $20 spent on all other purchases
BMO Air Miles World Elite MasterCard
- $120 annual fee
- No fee for supplementary cardholders
- Earn 1,000 miles after the first purchase and another 2,000 miles after spending $3,000 in the first 3 months, a total of 3,000 miles (if you apply before April 30, 2016)
- Earn 1 Air Mile for every $10 spent on all purchases
- Receive a 25% Flight Discount
- Travel & Medical Insurance
- Receive 2 Priority Pass lounges passes per year
- BMO Concierge Service
BMO Cash Back World Elite MasterCard
- $120 annual fee
- Earn $50 cash back as a new cardholder and an additional $100 cash back when you spend $3,000 in the first 3 months, a total of $150 cash back (if you apply before April 30, 2016)
- Earn 1.75% cash back on all purchases
This sign up bonus pretty much helps justify the first year fee. Personally I would not get this credit card for myself, because I would not want to pay the $120 annual fee. There are also other cash back credit cards to choose from. But if you have been contemplating this credit card, now is as good as time as any to give it a try.
Just remember to always do your calculations to determine whether it is worthwhile to keep a credit card. For now, the sign up bonus is high enough to justify giving this credit card a try for at least 11 months.
