[ANALYSIS] Esso Extra Partners up with Various Brands

For those who have the Esso Extra membership card, you can now use your points to redeem rewards from many brands, such as Hockey Canada and Tim Horton’s.

Here’s a highlight of some of their current rewards:

  • Hockey Canada Jersey 12,800 points
  • Tim Horton’s Card 4,500 points
  • Choice Hotels $25 Card 4,500 points
  • Shoppers $25 Card 4,500 points
  • Cineplex Movies for Two 4,500 points
  • iTunes $25 Gift Card 4,500 points

Looks like Esso is changing up the strategy to bring more incentive to its loyal clients. Being a frequent Esso filler, I always find myself torn between using my Esso Extra or Aeroplan card. I would love to try claiming one of these rewards instead of the free car wash I jump joy for.

Esso has taken it one step forward by offering basic Auto Club membership which offers protection while you’re on the road as well as emergency roadside service. You can easily redeem the Basic Primary Coverage for 14,000 points or the Basic Family Coverage for 17,000 points. This is the first time I have seen a gas station loyalty card branch out to a variety of brands. I would love to know if their Auto Club membership is worth redeeming for.

If you don’t currently own an Esso Extra card, you can sign up, create an online profile to receive 250 bonus points.
